मथुरा-श्री कृष्ण जी की जन्म भूमि

Mathura: The City of Mathura, in Uttar Pradesh, The land where Shri Krishna was born and spent his youth, the nucleus of Brajbhoomi, is located at a distance of 145 km south-east of Delhi and 58 km north-west of Agra. A little town on the River Yamuna was transformed into a place of faith after Lord Krishna was born here. Shri Krishna, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, was born in the Dwapara Yuga as the eighth son of the Yadava prince Vasudev and his wife Devaki. To save him from the murderous intentions of his maternal uncle Kansa, the ruler of Mathura, the infant Krishna was spirited away soon after birth to Gokul, the village of the gopas (cowherds) in Braj (their pastureland). It was here that he grew to manhood, in the tender care of his foster parents Nand and Yashoda in the happy company of the cowherds. There are numerous other little spots in the area that still reverberate with the enchantment of Shri Krishna.

Mathura, the brith place of Lord Krishna, ancient name was madura, after the name of a demon king Madu. With course of time it changed to Mathura. During the period of britishors they changed the name to Muttra(they were unbale to pronunce it properly). Mathura had seen many invasions in it's period. But courageously this birth place of Lord Shri Krishna is standiing tall, still holding it's heritage. Mathura was also known as Buddhist & Jain religious hub, and arceologists had dug up lot of statues of Gautam Buddha & Lord Mahavir ji.

Lord Krishna can be seen at each & every place in this city, located on the NH-1, on the way to delhi from mughal heritage city Agra. to our national capital delhi is growing with a slow pace.
There are many places to visit in Mathura, however Shri Krishna Janam Bhoomi, Dwarkadish temple, & Vishram Ghat(Lord took rest after killing kansa at this place) are few of the places a person can visit.
